I used to do the same; then I read that soaking in water/vinegar can help them last longer. So I did - and was amazed at the bottom of the bowl afterwards - gross.
Yikes, I never think of strawberries as being so dirty. I always just sprayed them in a colander, but I will be more diligent now. How much vinegar did you put in the soaking water Ashley?

I really need to do this more. I rinse them off under running water but I don't know how clean they get.

ReplyDeleteI filled the bowl with water and about 2tbsp (maybe slightly more) vinegar. Then i transfer them to a collander and rinse off
