Summer vacation is now upon us, and we wanted to do something fun with the kids. We aren't able to go away on a week long vacation at the moment, but we wanted a quick getaway. The
Brookstreet Hotels B Family Package is just what we were looking for.
A chance to have a night away in a hotel, the kids eat dinner free at Perspectives restaurant. Access to both the indoor and outdoor salt-water pools (with the weather we have right now, this is perfect), 4 passes to play mini-golf at Blackbird falls, re-usable water bottles that are free to fill at both onsite restaurants, tokens for the arcade and cookies and milk before bed (what kid wouldn't LOVE that!)
The kids have been with us to the Brookstreet once before, and have been asking ever since to go back. We decided that we were going to surprise them. We packed our overnight bags and loaded them in the truck without the kids knowing and then we headed out. We told them we were going for an early dinner, but nothing else.

Lovely king size bed for the four of us |
When we arrived, they were super excited asking if we were going to be staying at the hotel. We told them yes, and that we would be able to swim outside this time (since last time was in the winter). We checked in, they were given their welcome bags and we went up to our room.
Mr. K coloured for a little bit while we got settled in, and then we decided to grab an early dinner at Options Lounge. The kids were excited to get their water bottles filled up, and when we finished dinner we headed out to the swimming pool to enjoy the evening. We spent 2 hours alternating between the pool and hot tub. The pool is mildly heated, but still cool enough to be refreshing on a hot day.

pool, wading pool and hot tub to enjoy |
After swimming we went back to the room to get changed and receive their cookies and milk. Since it was a special night, we decided to let them stay up late and we went to listen to the live jazz at Options.
|
thumb war with dad while listening to Jazz; Mr. K was pretty tired after all that swimming, he almost fell asleep |
The morning was spent in the arcade and pool (again). We had hoped to use the mini golf passes, but the sky was pretty dark when we checked out and the forecast was calling for thunderstorms. We decided to hold on to the passes for another day.

a little fun in the arcade and then some more swimming to finish off our stay |
We had such a fun night away together. When we ask the kids what their favourite part was, they are both torn between spending the time together as a family, and the pools. They LOVED the outdoor pool. The B Family Package is a great option for families. Whether you are booking a night away, or needing a place to stay for a few nights, The Brookstreet is a great choice.. The 2 restaurants and a cafe on site, as well as many restaurants a short drive from the hotel.
Looks like you and your family had a blast! I am about ready for a little vacation myself :)

ReplyDelete:) who wouldn't be super excited about a cookie at bedtime!
DeleteWow, this place sounds amazing! I love when a hotel remembers that the comfort of your kids can make or break your stay and thus treat them accordingly. I love that they have both an indoor and outdoor pool as well. And milk and cookies at bedtime? Yes please!
